After Mughal-e-Azam, Dilip Kumar’s Naya Daur to get coloured

First it was Mughal-e-Azam and now it’s going to be Naya Daur. The Dilip Kumar magic is back on the big screen. His fans will get to see the BR Chopra-directed classic in a coloured format .

Starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala in the lead, the film that released in 1957 was an instant hit.

It took two-and-a-half years and a budget of Rs 3.5 crore at a Goa studio to give the film its new look. “I will also release the music album of the film in eight to ten days,” informs Chopra. OP Nayyar scored the music of the film.

Talking about the Dilip Kumar magic, Chopra adds that the actor’s versatility can never be questioned. “It is very important for the new generation to know what talent we had. I am planning to ask him to attend the premiere of the film,” he says.

The remastered Mughal-e-Azam was a box-office success when it was released in 2004. It ran consecutively at theatres for over four weeks and grossed Rs 10 crore in India. So much was the film’s popularity that it was also released in Pakistan and UK, among other countries. Send Feedback
