Legendary actor and thespian Dilip Kumar, who has been honoured both by the Indian and Pakistan Governments, was awarded in absentia, the Honorary Doctorate of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University.

”In recognition of eminent position and attainments, on behalf of the MANUU, may I present Padma Bhushan Dilip Kumar Sahib the conferment of the degree of Doctor of Literature,” Chancellor Syeda Saiyidain Hameed said, amid huge cheers from students and professors alike.

While the Indian Government had honoured him with the ‘Padma Bhushan’, the Pakistan Government had conferred the highest civilian award ”Nishane Imtiaz”.
