Thespian Dilip Kumar might appear on India’s Guinness World Records TV show, health permitting. The actor holds the record for winning the most awards

Dilip Kumar will now feature on television! The thespian has been requested to feature in a reality drama on the small screen.

The yesteryear star has been approached to be part of Guinness World Records Ab India Todega.

As Dilip Kumar holds the record for winning the maximum number of awards by an Indian actor, the makers want him to be on board. The programme highlights Indians who want to set their own world records.

The desi version of the international show hosted by Preity Zinta and produced by Miditech is slated to air on Colors.

The makers of Guinness World Records have sent an official letter to the octogenarian requesting his august presence on the show.

His wife Saira Banu confirms, “Yes, we have received a letter. But we have not yet taken a decision. He has not done anything like this before or featured in a TV show. We will have to take into consideration how they will be going about it.”

Dilip Kumar isn’t playing Shah Rukh Khan’s father in Viveik Vaswani’s comedy, Dulha Mil Gaya. Saira Banu personally denies any such claim. Beyond that, the couple refuses to comment.

Dilip Kumar-SRK ties go back a long way. Both are pathans and share a common passion for cinema. What clinched the matter was Saira Banu’s declaration some years ago at an awards function that if she and her husband had a son, he’d probably look like Shah Rukh. The idea of casting them as father and son must have been born then. But, if the two do come together, it would hardly be in a comedy like Dulha Mil Gaya where SRK has a mere guest appearance.

It’s unlikely that Dilip Kumar would ever face the camera again. He’s not keeping well these days and cannot move anywhere without his wife by his side.The last film where Dilip Kumar made a screen appearance was Umesh Mehra’s Quila.
